Nicholas joined Allard Architecture at the beginning of 2019 after graduating from TU Delft, where his thesis was centred on a rigorous research of how existing street infrastructure can be repurposed into intensive sites of living, working and recreation as part of the densification process of cities. For this he used the historic centre of Amsterdam as a case study.
During his career in both his native Australia as well as in the Netherlands, he has gained experience working on a diverse array of projects ranging from healthcare, to new-build residential and commercial developments, and learning about the monumental canal house typology in Amsterdam. As a consequence, he has gained an insight into different scales and complexities.
His specialties lie in a knowledge of BIM, notably Revit, and how it can be harnessed as a valuable tool to successfully execute deliverables for projects. These skills have been applied to notable projects such as De Ruijterkade, Spijkerpand, and Riga2020.
