Situated on the prominent Koningsplein in the historic centre of Amsterdam, this listed monument building was repurposed by Allard Architecture from its previous incarnation as an old bank building into a series of efficient 1-bedroom apartments above a retail space on the ground floor. The apartments retain a sense of light and airiness with the use of white throughout, as well as the open floor plans of each apartment which focus activities on the central area of each apartment. Significant monumental features such as the common staircase and main entry are preserved.
