De Woezel consists of a series of small scale housing units which have been designed to be economically accessible and sustainable. While containing a naturally lit, split level organization, the spaces flow and intersect each other creating an open and flexible home attractive to modern young families. The transitional landing spaces in between the different levels of the home are extended to become active play areas for children, bringing function to a typical house element.
At the urban scale, existing pedestrian connections are maintained and parking is allocated away from the south facing garden spaces. These gardens therefore receive ideal sunlight, allowing the existing trees to flourish and protecting the complex’s natural green space.
